If you’re like me, you’re always looking for easy ways to make a little side cash. With inflation and the economic effects of a pandemic, everybody could use some extra money in their pockets.

If you search online for side hustle ideas, you’ll find a combination of bloggers promoting themselves and asking for your permission to email you a list of ideas, or the same old tired advice like surveys or clinical trials.

As someone who has tried out many of these ideas, I’m here to give first-hand experience on what worked for me and what didn’t. Now these won’t work for everybody- I’m just showing what has worked for me personally. These are 3 ways that I make side money in 2021:

1. Poshmark

So you could replace Poshmark with eBay, Mercari, or Amazon, and it’s all the same principle. Everybody has used clothes or shoes that they could get rid of. And with prices of seemingly everything skyrocketing, people are always looking for a deal.

I’ve used Poshmark for a few years now and can always rely on the app when I need to make a quick $30–40. Just follow a ton of people, share your closet every day, and take good pictures. You could easily make this a part-time job with enough inventory.

2. Writing

If you have writing talent, you could most likely be getting paid for it. No matter your niche, websites are always needing fresh content. Like sports writing? Look up any sports websites you like and see if they have a tab for writer applications- most of them do. Same thing with other niches as well. This is easier if you have a portfolio to showcase- Medium is great for starting a writing portfolio.

If sports are your thing, try FanSided. I have written for FanSided for 3 years now, and if you know SEO, you stories will get a ton of views. This is an easy way to make an extra $75–100 a month.

3. Sports Betting

This is my bread and butter. I know it’s not available everywhere, but if you’re a sports fan and sports books are legal in your state, you need to be betting. There’s almost always a few lines a week that a knowledgeable sports fan can take advantage of. After a little trial and error, you can replace a part-time job fairly quickly. Always be responsible and if you have a gambling problem, call 1–800-GAMBLER
