What the Covid pandemic proved is that many, many people can work from home rather easily. Whether transferring your 9–5 job to your home office or joining the gig economy, there are more ways than ever to be an entrepreneur.

I’m not gonna lie though: most of the “easy ways to make money online” are complete crap. I’m going to give you guys a few suggestions for side gigs I’ve ACTUALLY USED to make real money.

That’s not to say that these will work for everybody- these are just the ways that work for me. I’m well aware that everybody has different skills that can be monetized.

Without further ado, here are a few ways I bring in extra income in 2022:

Writing

Well, this one should be obvious. If you have a Medium account, you are most likely passionate about writing. If you’re passionate about something, why not monetize it? Many Medium users have made posts about how to grow a following on the platform, and some of them actually work. Medium can be a great place to get started monetizing your writing.

No matter your niche, you can find websites and blogs that pertain to said niche. If you are a new parent, there are copious amounts of parenting blogs- and many of these blogs accept submissions. Same goes for almost every niche. Most of these sites will pay between $20–150 per post, which really adds up if you can get a couple of posts published per month.

(Note: publishing an e-book is a common suggestion that many throw out there, but I don’t like this idea. For one, it’s a lot of effort for very minimal reward, and two, you’re better off getting guaranteed earnings from articles)

Sports Betting

This one won’t work or apply for everybody.

If you live in a state where sports betting online is legal, and you’re a sports fan, why are you not betting? You don’t have to reinvent the wheel here, either.
