NFL Playoffs: Can the Bengals pull off an upset in Nashville?
It’s almost time.
At 3:30 PM on Saturday, January 21, the Bengals will kick off in Nashville against your number 1 seed Tennessee Titans.
As a Titans fan, one would think that I would be ecstatic, chomping at the bit for a big win.
Unfortunately , I am a realist, and I am anything BUT expecting a win. Don’t get me wrong, the Titans are the number one seed for a reason and are perfectly capable of winning big games.
However, the Bengals scare me more than possibly anybody else. The reason why? Swagger. The Bengals are a young team that has nothing to lose- they did not enter the season with high expectations, and winning their division and at least one playoff game already, is above preseason expectation.
The Titans, on the other hand, won the AFC South for the second year in a row. They also earned the number one seed in the entire AFC. They also have several high-profile stars such as Julio Jones, Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown, and Kevin Byard. All the pressure is on the Titans, make no mistake.
If the Titans fail to win this game, it will undoubtedly make this season an utter failure. Losing in the AFC Championship or Super Bowl is one thing, but you just can’t lose in the divisional round to a team that was putrid…
