NFL WEEK 11: The Titans show weakness.

Well after an incredible run that included wins over the Bills, Chiefs, and Rams, the Titans streak finally came to an end.

The Titans suffered their 2nd embarrassing loss of the season this weekend, falling to the Texans. Beating multiple playoff teams just to lose to the Jets and Texans? If you don’t love that, then you don’t love Titans football!

I’m not panicking at all. This is what happens when half of your initial 53-man roster is on the IR. Because of the Julio Jones injury, one of the Titans starting receivers on Sunday was Marcus Johnson- himself a journeyman. But then even Johnson got hurt, and he’s now on the IR as well.

Ryan Tannehill played horrible on Sunday- his worst game as a Titan by far. But what’s to be expected when your primary weapons are Dontrell Hilliard, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Geoff Swaim? The Titans skill position group looks like the tryout roster for a new experimental league.

If the Titans are to be taken seriously as Super Bowl contenders, they will have to get healthy. There’s just simply too many injuries to expect guys to “step up” and replicate production.

A bright spot has been the defense- not expected to be a strong suit for the Titans. Instead, the defense has been what’s been keeping the Titans in these games. Even with last Sunday, the Titans defense is not to be blamed. 5 turnovers were the problem against Houston, not the defense.

I do think the Titans will figure it out. The team will only get healthier and they’ve given themselves a nice little cushion in the division. Coupled with the easiest remaining schedule in the league, the Titans should coast to the playoffs. If this team gets healthy, nobody will want to see them in the playoffs.
